B.B.C. Telecast In Melbourne
MELBOURNE. An English racing telecast beamed from the BBC. in London was received, for 45 Jtainutee on a televisfon screen «t tie home of Mr George Palmer in a Melbourne suburb. An English receiver was used.
Mr Palmer, an amateur television enthusiast, said the programme was clear and easily followed. He said an atmospheric layer, about 200 mil— high, brought about the reception. The layer "bounced” the low frequency beams so that they reached Australia in multiple hops of 2000. miles.—(Reuter).
