LwM h.v, tern o. .< -Wfi* for many a day came;to a<tanp and somewhat unartistlc end, says the New Yorit correspondent of the "Daffy Telegraph.” Built by Jean Tinguely, a Swiss, .it was, in short, a aelfdestroying machine. The contraptibn, 23ft by 27ft, was intended as a jibe at man’s increasing dependence on the machine. Built from scrap iron, 80 wheels, bottles, a bathtub and a piano in the garden of the Museum of Modem Art, it was started up before an invited audience. But something went wrong.
