From an apparently hopeless position at the three furlongs, the Wanganui mare Juventas finished brilliantly wide out on the course to wm the Besley Memorial Handicap i narrowly from Gilt at the Waverley Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday. The popular Juventas-Truro combination returned a dividend of £l2 13s for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £23.254, compared with £22,974 last year, an Increase of £2BO.
