“CONDEMNED BY ALL”
Cape Town Paper Looks At S.A. CAPE TOWN. April 9. One of the strongest leading articles published in South Africa for many months was printed by the “Cape Argus” yesterday. It described South Africa as ‘the horror and scandal of the whole civilised world.” The “Cape' Argus” said: “We are condemned without single exception by all nations . . . w< are loathed and denounced by every member of that civilisation we are supposed to be defending. “We are already smugly establishing the myth that 1000 million people are wrong, and we are right. “Is there no-one in the Cabinet who will recognise that Sharpeville was the shot that rang round the world?” it ask-d.
