Boxing Lolo Beats Pehi In Tame Bout
(Neto Zealand Press Association) TOKOROA, March 27. In an uninspiring bout at Tokoroa on Saturday M. Lolo (13st 91b) of Tonga, beat the New Zealand heavyweight champion, S. Pehi (13st 31b) on a technical knock-out-when Pehi failed to answer the bell at the start of the ninth round of a scheduled 12-round non-title fight. Lolo, who was making his debut in New Zealand, gave away height, reach and knowledge of boxing, but compensated by power of punching.
