Calyxes Wins Sixth Race In Succession

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 27. The Callander four-year-old Calyxes scored her sixth win in succession when she won the President’s Handicap, the main flat event at the Birchwood Hunt’s annual meeting at Invercargill on Saturday. She is unbeaten in her two starts in open company.

With Bontavia in the second leg, the Otautau Hack Handicap, the double returned £23 14s 6d for £l. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance. The track was dead for the early events, but improved as the day progressed. The totalisator handled £22,796. an increase of £3143 on last year’s total of £19.653. Results :
