AIRPORT AT AUCKLAND
Mr Robinson Confident (New Zealand Press Association/ AUCKLAND, March 23. It was reasonably certain that Auckland would be getting an international airport at Mangere in the near future, said the Mayor of Auckland (Mr D. M. Robinson) at the annual meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce tonight ‘I cannot divulge what was said in my recent talks on Mangere with the heads of Government departments,” he said but the outcome of our discussions was that there would be an international airport serving the whole of New Zealand at Mangere.” He was awaiting confirmation of arrangements made at the talks, he said. • “Unless there is a change of heart we will be in a position within a few months to sign an agreement with the Government for the provision of a full-scale international airport in Aucka?<r'” Robinson.
