CANTERBURY C.W.I.
Annual Meeting Of Committee Mrs H. Prebble presided at the annual meeting of the executive committee of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes in Christchurch recently. Seven good service badges were awarded and these will be presented at the annual council meeting next month. Members were congratulated on their efforts to support the Town Hall Fair. Voluntary organisers presented reports on recent C.W.I. branch annual meetings they had attended. Some members had joined Hornby, Kaiapoi and Pines Beach Institutes in a visit to the North Otago Federation. The party was taken to view the new power station at Benmore, vineyards at Kakanui, stone quarries at Oamaru and other places of interest. . They were also entertained at evening functions arranged by the Eveline C.W.I. and by the North Otago Federation.
