Cranfield, England. Applications close with the Director of Civil Aviation, Private Bag, Wellington, on March 31, 1960. Informatory statement, regulations governing the scholarship and application and medical forms may be obtained from the Director, on application. The Government established this scholarship in 1946 as a contribution towards the promotion of British Commonwealth Aeronautical Research. One scholarship is awarded annually and is tenable at the College for the two-year post-graduate course. The successful scholar will need to leave New Zealand in August, . 1960, to commence his course at • the College in October, 1960. The scholarship carries with it the following benefits and conditions: 1— Remuneration at the rate of £4OO a year. 2 A grant of up to £5O for books and personal instruments. . 3 Payment of all tuition fees at the College. 4 Payment of tourist-class fares by sea to and from the United Kingdom, subject to certain conditions. , s—Three months before the com- , pletion of the course, the scholar is required to offer his services for a period of two years, through the Director of Civil Aviation, in terms of the conditions of the Scholarship. 6—The scholarship is open to New Zealand men holding a , New Zealand University degree , in science or engineering, or , equivalent qualifications. It is , attractive to graduates who wish to specialise in aeronautical engineering, but is not restricted to such graduates.
