LINCOLNSHIRE HANDICAP
Irish Horse May Be Favourite
(N.Z Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 23 An Irish-bred horse, owned by an American, ridden by an Australian and trained by an Irishman may start favourite for the first big fiat race of the English season today. Hie horse is Courts Appeal and at last evening’s call-over for the Lincolnshire Handicap he was joint favourite at 10 to 1. According to the “Daily Mail” he will be ridden by Garnet Bougoure, who is retained by the Irish trainer, Vincent O’Brien. Another Australian jockey in the race is “Scobie” Breasley. Last year he finished second in the jockeys’ championship. His mount today will be Franciscan, quoted at 14 to 1.
