The long swim in almost flat water appeared to suit Wellington, which won - all four reel events by surprisingly wide margins, although the water points were fairly close. B. Le Cren (Taylor’s Mistake), and touched the buoy first. There was also some close swimming in the senior surf race. B. Crowder and R. Blair, close rivals in the national individual events, fought it out for most of the way At the finish, Blair was closely pressed by the Wellington champion, C. Soldiers’ Multi-Wife Ban.— Lieutenant-Colonel M. Jusuf, commander of the South Celebes, has banned his men from marrying more than one woman without permission from their unit commanders. He said in a general order that any soldier found disobeying would be discharged from the service. —(Reuter)
