RETURN OF D. J. DAVISON
First Race After Rugby Injury
The Canterbury Rugby and athletics representative, D. J. DaviSon, made a successful return to athletics yesterday when he won the old- boys’ race at the St. Andrew’s College sports. Davison, whose only participation in athletics this season has been in one relay race, recorded 1(1>5 seconds for the 100 yards event. Davison received a bad leg injury last Rugby season when playing for the Junior All Blacks against the British Lions. It was feared that he would be unable to take part in Rugby or athletics for some seasons. Yesterday, Davison had several practice sprints before his race, and showed no ill-effects after his win.
