Workshop Held At Aranui
The resignation of Miss Mavis Reese was received with regret at a recent meeting of the committee of management of the Christchurch Nursery Play Centre Association Miss Reese, who is leaving Christchurch soon, was appointed an honorary vicepresident in recognition of many years’ service to the association A new member, Mr F. R. Harrison, was welcomed to the meeting by the president of the association (Mrs E. B. Dalmer). Mrs J. C. Noble, convener of the staff and education committee reported that 14 centres, including Leeston, had been represented at a workshop held at ■Aranui recently. This workshop was attended by 42 mothers during the morning session and 26 in the afternoon. Mrs M. Royds. director of practical training who is leaving for an overseas tour soon, was presented with a book as a token of the association’s esteem, Mrs Noble said. Mrs R Brodie will act as director during Mrs Royds's absence. Mrs L. Duke and Mrs A. Long were appointed zone visitors to country districts. It was announced that a general meeting would be held on March 15, when the work of nursery play centres would be discussed.
