Obituary MR T. W. ANDREWS

Mr Thomas William Andrews, a well-known businessman died in Christchurch yesterday He was the son of the late Mr Frank «ru reWS ? nd a grandson of Mr William Andrews, co-founder cf Andrews and Beaven Ltd. Mr Andrews was born in Christchurch in 1907. During his youth his family lived on Cashmere Hills. After completing his engineering studies he served his apprenticeship with W. H. Price and Son, Ltd., and joined Andrews and Beaven, Ltd., after spending a year in the United States.

Mr Andrews served with the Company for more than 31 years. In addition to his position as

director of the family firm, he was on the boards of several other businesses, including the Amberley Lime Company, Ltd., Transport (Nelson) Holdings. Ltd., and Andrews and Beaven (Otago) Ltd. He was associated with the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation and was recently returned as councillor for the Fendalton riding of the Waimairi County Council.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Messrs Brian and Stephen Andrews.
