N.Z. JUSTICES' CONFERENCE

Reception For Delegates

Delegates to the Dominion conference of the Federation of New Zealand Justices’ Associations and their wives were entertained by the Canterbury association at a reception held at the Avon Rowing Club's pavilion last evening. About 220 guests were welcomed by Mr Angus Henderson, president of the Canterbury association. Guests of honur included Mi Justice Macarthur. Mr Raymond Ferner, S M. and Mrs Ferner; Mr W. H. Sarney, newly-elected president of the federation, and Mrs Sarney; Mr W. Fraser, immediate past-president, and’ Mrs Fraser.

Mrs E. L. Rice, convener of the women’s committee of the Canterbury association, presented sprays to Mrs Ferner. Mrs H. E. Radley, who arranged the floral decorations, and Mrs W. E. Olds, who presented the musical programme.

This was the first function to be held at the Avon Rowing Club's attractive new pavilion. The musical programme was as follows:—Mr William Langford (piano solos); Mesdames Beatrice Crocker, Madelinne Hanafin, and Mr V. Reid (vocal solos); Mesdames Kyra Greenslade and Beatrice Crocker (vocal duets); Mrs J. P. O’Sullivan (humorous sketches): Miss Romola Griffiths (violin solos). Mrs W. E. Olds was the accompanist.
