Film Writers Get First Contract
HOLLYWOOD, February 25 Universal-International Pictures last night became the first major Hollywood studio to negotiate a new working contract with the Screen Writers’ Guild, which has been on strike in Hollywood since January 16. , The five-year agreement provides for unspecified payment to writers of additional compensation in the event of the sale of films made after 1948 for television broadcasting.
