MONEY RAISED FOR CRIPPLES
Six Shirley Children Work In Holidays Knowing about a little handicapped child in their own district has made six Shirley children very conscious of the fact that some others are not as fortunate as they are themselves. So for three years now, in the school holidays,’ the six children have got together to raise money which they send to the Canterbury and West Coast branch of the Crippled Children Society. The children—Carol and Donald Roberts, Mary and Elizabeth Cameron and Paul and John Harrison—collect toys, used clothing, and anything else they think they can sell and set up a stall in the garden. Their work, and its results, earned them a special “thank you” at the society’s monthly meeting.
