Fettle Not Going To U.S.

R. F. Hayes, the trainer-driver of the Sydney pacer, Fettle, has rejected an invitation to take the horse to New York for international races at Yonkers Raceway in June. HaYes has decided to give Fettle a short iet-up before training him for important races at the Harold Park Easter carnival, which opens on April 1. Fettle finished at the rear of the Harold Park Invitation last Friday after being forced wide all the way. The race was won by the 15 to 1 prospect, Rosslawn, which shaded Maestro’s Melody, Apmat and Bobby Brigade in a close finish.
