FALSE RETURNS OF INCOME
Retired Farmer Fined £750 (New Zealand Preet Association) AUCKLAND, February 25. Fine» totalling £750 were imposed by Mr H. Jenner Wily, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today on Albert Eden Harris, aged 74, a retired farmer, who pleaded guilty to 10 charges of wilfully making false returns of income. He was fined £75 on each charge. The income tax deficiency was shown at £4173 6s Bd, with social security tax of £1209 5s 6d also owing; Prosecuting for the Inland Revenue Department, Mr H. Rosen said the charges covered the period from 1949 to 1958 inclusive. ,
