SYDNEY, February 23. The Ford Motor Company (Australia) was exploring the export market for its Australian-made motor cars, a vice-president of the Ford Motor Company international group said today. He is Mr J. Bugas, who was speaking at a press conference. Mr Bugas arrived in Australia yesterday with the president of the Ford Motor Company of Canada (Mr R. M. Sale) to attend the twelfth international congress of scientific management in Sydney and other Australian centres. Yesterday, they announced that the Ford Falcon would be the new Australian car to be manufactured at Ford plants at Broadmeadows and Geelong, near Melbourne. The company would also make the new Ford Anglia light car at Broadmeadows and Geelong, he said. Mr Bugas said the extent to
which Australia would be able to expert cars was difficult to estimate. But he said he had no doubts about the Australian economy’s rate of growth which he described as “exploding.” “This community is one of the soundest in which we can operate—and we want to grow with it,” he said.
