COMMISSION

The appointment of the Education Commission, under the chairmanship of Sir George Currie, will give satisfaction to all who have sought to make representations. With the shortage of wellqualified teachers still a problem, it is proper that the Government should ask the commission to give early consideration to this question. But it is to be hope dthat urgent practical problems will not over-shadow the more general review of the content of the education system in which many parents are interested. With hearings to last two years, this end should be met eventually.
