A GREAT FUTURE
The McKenzies group of stores has grown with New Zealand. Throughout the years, McKenzies have opened new stores wherever there has been a need for their quicker service, bigger range and lower prices. Now with 45 stores throughout New Zealand, McKenzies bring to shoppers the largest range of goods in their history at the lowest possible prices. In every part of New Zealand, the familiar stores of the McKenzies chain have become a part of the New Zealand way of life. STILL GROWING In 1910 there was one McKenzies specialty store. Ten years later the total had grown to 10. In 1928-there were 22 operating in N.Z. Soon afterwards these were converted to department stores and another 10 added to the group. Enterprise and initiative carried the firm through the depression and the dark days of two world wars. Today, in addition to the 45 stores operating, further sites have been purchased for future building expansion. In Wellington, the new Cuba St. store at present under construction, and the new Lambton Quay store to be rebuilt in 3 years’ time, will both incorporate the latest type of escalator.
