Yachting CYRUS WILLIAMS TROPHY
Many Capsizes At Lyttelton
In a fine display of sailing, A. W. Shields took his R-class yacht Vision to the head of the fleet in the Cyrus Williams dinghy championship on Sunday and was an easy winner. The race, which was held at Lyttelton by the Christchurch Yacht Club, attracted 12 entries. A strong north-easterly wind and a heavy sea made conditions difficult, and by the time the first mark was reached, the fleet was greatly reduced in size. Several yachts had capsized in the heavy seas off the moles, and only five yachts eventually finished the course. Results were:— Cyrus Williams Dinghy Championship (R-class), starting time. 3 p.m.: Vision (A. W. Shields), 4hr 16mln, 1: Impetuous (B. Wall). 4hr 17min, 2; Sari (F.
