Judging On Saturday
Results of the Mairehau Horticultural Society’s garden competitions judged on Saturday were:— Canterbury Car Club trophy for best garden viewed from the street: H. G. Patton and Mrs Patton, 11 Skipton street, 1; C. E. Anderson, 120 Francis avenue, 2; H. Beale, 5 Manuka street 3. All-year garden for the F. W. Walter Cup: Mrs R. E. Brand, 10 Bellbrook crescent, 1; J. H. Messenger, 226 Hills road, 2; Mrs Moore 2 Ethne street. 3. Neil McVlcar Cup, for gardens under five years old: Mrs H. Clasper. 468 Innes road 1: Mrs L. W. Newton, 8 Ethne street, 2; F. Cassidy, 467 Innes road, 3. Homestead cup for State house gardens: H G. and Mrs Patton, 11 Skipton street. 1; C. Nicholl and Mrs Nicoll, 8 Bellbrook crescent, 2; Mrs R. E. Brand, 10 Bellbrook crescent, 3. F. W. Walter Cup for vegetable gardens: G. L. Crozier and Mrs Crozier, 7 Kellys road, 1; G. F. Goodwin, 2 Dana place, 2; J. H. Messenger 226 Hills road, 3.
