Altered Exchange Rates

The £ made small gains over the North American currencies and several of the European currencies last week.

Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates, as advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales, are as follows: New Zealand on:—

New York: buying, 2.7991 dollars to £N.Z.I (compared with 2.7985 dollars on February 8); selling, 2.7673 dollars (2.7667 dollars). Montreal: 2.6660 dollars (2.6653); 2.6313 dollars (2.6307). Austria: 73.00 schillings (72.99): 71.52 schillings (71.50). Belgium: 141.82 francs (141.72); 137.30 francs (137.20). France: 13.86 francs (same): 13.48 francs (13.47) Italy: 1743 lire (1742); 1708 lire (1707). Netherlands: 10.65 guilders (10.66); 10.40 guilders (same). Switzerland: 12.18 francs (12.17); 11.94 francs (11.93). Western Germany: 11.70 Dm. (same); 11.46 Dm. (11.45). Singapore: 27 13/16d N.Z. to one dollar (27 27/32): 28 45/64d N.Z. to one dollar (28 47/64).
