Mr Tirikatene Elected Vice-Chairman

(New Zealana -Tess Association: WELLINGTON, February 15. The Minister of Forests (Mr Tirikatene), who is attending the fifth session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission conference at New Delhi, has been appointed first vice-chairman, says a cablegram received by the New Zealand Forest Service today. The senior conservator (Mr A. P. Thomson) and the officer-in-charge of the Forest Research Institute (Mr T. A, Strong), who are accompanying Mr Tirikatene, attended a meeting of a working group on forest-working techniques and the training of forest workers, after which Mr Tirikatene offered on behalf of the New Zealand Government the wider use by member countries of the training facilities maintained by the Forest Service in New Zealand.
