L.P.O. To Play Lilburn Suite
On January 27, listeners to the 8.8. C. Home Service will hear the first performance in Britain of Suite for Orchestra (in this case the London Philharmonic) by the New Zealand composer, Douglas Lilburn. The conductor of the New Zealand National Orchestra, John Hopkins, back from engagements in Czechoslovakia and about to leave for concerts in Russia, will conduct this and Symphony No. If in E Minor by Sibelius. (London correspondent).
