SAMANTHA GOES NORTH

Auckland Campaign

Samantha, a candidate for the Epsom Stakes at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday night, has been taken north by D. Mangos, who will drive her.

Mangos drove Arania to win the North Island Challenge Stakes and finish second to Sun Chief in the Great Northern Derby Stakes at Auckland last month.

Samantha, which looks favourably placed on the limit, finished a good fifth in the Charles Cross Stakes at Addington on January 2 at her last start. Earlier, she finished third to Sun Chief and Kingsdown Patch in the New Zealand Champion Stakes at Ashburton.
