Pension Rates

Sir,—Under the heading “Pension Rates” in “The Press” on Saturday. January 16, the Minister in Charge of War Pensions <Mr P. G. Connolly) endeavours to “pasS the buck” to Mr Nordmeyer but surely blunders when he says that with his colleague • Miss M. Howard) he had arranged to give “a lump sum bonus payment . . . instead of an increase.” The fact is that no bonus payment was made to the true war pensioner. Like your correspondent "1914-18,” I do not fancy the propects of an increase in April.—Yours, etc.,

JUST CURIOUS. January 16, 1960.
