CHAMPIONSHIP PAIRS

Skoglund And Taylor Win

(Neto Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 19.

T. T. Skoglund, winner of four New Zealand bowling titles, was skip of the winning Carlton pair at the New Zealand championships which concluded at Dunedin today. Skoglund and his lead, E. H.

Taylor, took the top honours with a convincing win over their clubmates, W. P. O’Neill and H. Roy, by 24 to 11. O’Neill was attempting to win his second title of the tournament, something achieved only twice before. He was skip of the champion four on Saturday. Accurate draw play by Taylor was the decisive factor in Skoglund’s win.

Roy at no stage appeared to find touch and his skip had to play the part of a defender, a role not quite to his liking. Going into an early lead the winners were never in any trouble throughout the game and won handsomely.
