No Trace Of Missing Man
No trace has been found of Wilfred Boston Taylor, aged 41, married, with two children, whose disappearance was first reported almost a month ago. Mr Taylor left his home in Garvins road, Sockburn, by bicycle on December 19, but failed to return.
Searches of country areas surrounding Sockburn, including underwater investigation of shingle pits, have been carried out by the police, assisted by civilians, but without success. On the theory that Mr Taylor was suffering from either a nervous breakdown or loss of memory, and may have wished to leave Christchurch, a watch was kept at Lyttelton and Harewood airport.
The latest likely clue received by the police was the finding of a bicycle in a plantation at Templeton yesterday, but it was not Mr Taylor’s bicycle. The missing man is sft lOin in height, of medium-heavy build with brown eyes and brown hair going grey.
