Favourite At Pahiatua

National, a close second in the Pahiatua Cup on Saturday, is the logical favourite for the President’s Handicap, the feature event and first leg of the T.A.B. double on the concluding day of the Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting at Woodville tomorrow Even at the revised weights Port Wine, Saturday’s winner, should be hard to beat again and Maquana should be the improver among the others. The second-leg of this double is the Newmarket Handicap, in which Mary Gilpin should test the firstday minor place-getter No Boots.
