Athletics U.S. Invitation To Elliott
(N.Z. Press Association —Copi/rtoMtj MELBOURNE, January 12. The Victorian Amateur Athletic Association executive last night gave approval for the miler, H. Elliott, to accept an invitation to run in Los Angeles on January 22 and New York on January 30. It is now up to the Australian Athletic Union to grant Elliott permission to make the trip. This should be automatic unless the A.A.U. haggles over a manager for Elliott. The V.A.A.A. is Insisting upon the appointment of an American official to manage Elliott in America, but the A.A.U. recently made a rule of appointing Australian managers. This would not be acceptable to the Americans sponsoring Elliott's invitation because of the added cost.
