1960 CLASSES AT RISINGHOLME

Floral Art And Wool Spinning Proposed

New ideas for classes at the Risingholme Community Centre for 1960 are floral art and wool spinning, according to the organisation’s news bulletin for January. Classes which will be held again this year include drama, table tennis, square dancing, art, horticulture, millinery, woodwork (for men and women) dressmak 1 ing and pottery. Risingholme also has a choir and a nursery play centre. “We are extremely proud of Risingholme—its standard of work, its achievements and the friendliness of its members,” says the January copy of “News.” “All add up to something rather rare in the bustle and hurry of our present-day pattern of living.” A sum of about £555 was raised at a recent fete held at the community centre. This amount will help to provide maintenance, as well as a new machine for dressmaking classes. A glazing bay will be built soon, and the theatre and craftroom buildings will be painted.
