WHISBY ROAD MILK DELIVERY

Decision By Board

The milkman serving Whisby road, Cashmere, will leave milk for two residents in that road at a point just off MacMillan’s road. Another resident will be asked to erect a box at the top of the road.

The Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board agreed yesterday to approve the milk vendor’s suggestion that pint delivery is permitted. The vendor is Mr W. R. Colville.

“Although the law requires it, I would say it is impossible for a vendor to take a truck up Whisby road without losing some crates,” said the chairman (Mr E. R. Stead).

Mr R. Brown, who supported the vendor’s suggestion, described the road as "a real stinker.”

“I saw it a few months ago, and I was immediately sympathetic toward the vendor,” said Mr Brown.
