, Pay Increase And Incorporation A wage increase of Id an hour and incorporation of the Arbitration Court’s 24 per cent, general order, as agreed to in conciliation, are contained in a new Canterbury, Otago and Southland tanners’ award issued by the Court. An altered clause provides that employers shall supply two overalls or smocks a year to all workers, or in lieu of that pay a smock or overall allowance of Is 9d a week. Pay provisions of the award are effective from December 1: and the award will continue in force for 18 months. The award was negotiated by the Freezing Works and Related Trades Union and three tannery companies, two in Dunedin and one in Christchurch.
