“Perturbed” by Suicides.—The South African National Council for 'Mental Health is "greatly perturbed” at the incidence of suicide in South Africa: At its annual meeting it was stated that four people every day committed suicide and 6000 attempted suicides took place every year. Dr. R. W. S. Cheetham, Of Durban, said that the death rate from typhoid was smaller than the suicide rate. Suicide, in South Africa was now reaching epidemic proportions, he!said. •'
