Thursday Set As Date

The appeal by L. D. Ashton against the decision of the stewards to impose a three-year term of disqualification on him will be heard in Christchurch next Thursday starting at 9-30 a.m. Ashton was disqualified after an inquiry into a positive swab taken from his horse, Space King, after he had won at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting on September 19. He was found guilty of failing to take proper precautions to prevent the administration of a drug to the horse.
