CHRISTCHURCH DIOCESE

Many Building Projects

Many building projects are under way in the Diocese of Christchurch. A pre-cast concrete church at Le Bons Bay is under construction and was to have been dedicated this month. Unforeseen circumstances have delayed its completion until March.

The new church of St. Anne at St. Martin’s will be dedicated by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) on December 22 and in the same parish St. Mark’s church will be consecrated on December 13.

Approval has been given to a plan for additions and alterations to the church room of St. Hilda’s at Lower Riccarton and it is eventually proposed to build a new church at the front of the section.

At Methven, Scargill and Horsley Downs building plans are under consideration.
