Motor-Cycling HEMPLEMAN WINS GRAND PRIX

Meeting At New Plymouth

(New Zealand Press Association/ NEW PLYMOUTH, December 6. The New Zealand representative motor-cyclist, J. Hempieman (Auckland), won both senior and junior Grand Prix events at the North Taranaki Motor-cycle Club’s closed circuit meeting at the New Plymouth airport yesterday. K. Anderson won the first race, but Hempieman won the second and then the junior grand prix, taking the lead in this after only nine laps. In the senior grand prix he took the lead from the start. In the first of five races at various meetings in New Zealand for the Dominion sidecar championship, two Palmerston North men, R. Phelps and J. King, won. The championship will be decided on points gained over the five races. They beat last year’s winners. F. Holder and D. O’Hagen (Auckland).
