Building Permits For November

Although 80 more building permits were issued by the Christchurch City Council for the month of November, the value of them is down on that for the same month last year. Last month the council issued 381 permits valued at £384,362, against £425,683 for 301 permits in November, 1958. Since March 31, the city council has this year issued 3038 permits for work valued at £3,689,257. For the same period in 1958, 2607 permits were valued at £3,438,814. During the month, in the- New Brighton ward 87 permits for work valued at £116,287 were issued. Next was St. Albans with 81 permits valued at £77,341. In Sumner there were nine permits for work valued at £16,445, Since March, Linwood with work valued at £898,741 tops the list followed by St. Albans at £699,533. Sumner with 96 permits issued was at the bottom of the list, the value being £95,956.
