Flooding In Italy

The Santerno river in northern Italy broke its banks last night at the small village of San Viola, some 30 miles south of Bologna. The breach in the dyke was about 60 yards long. Italian police, firemen, and army , engineers immediately started to evacuate inhabitants of the region as the water of the Santerno swept into the village.
