Pilots’ Salaries Increased

"The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, November 29. A new award has been announced for North Island airline pilots, who include the pilots of N.A.C., S.A.F.E., and T.E.A.L. The new increased salary rates with the 24 per cent, general order incorporated as an integral part of the rates came into force from October 12, 1959. The salary for an aircraft captain commanding an Electra in his tenth year is £2655. The basic rate for a first-year captain is £1439. This rises in steps according to whether he commands a Dominie, Heron, Bristol, Solent, DC-6, Viscount or Electra. A first-year Electra pilot’s salary is £2145.
