BRANDED BEER GLASSES

First Deliveries To Hotels

(New Zealand Press Association/ WELLINGTON, November 24. New standard hotel beer glasses, specially shaped for fuller filling, and stamped.with their measure on the bottom, are being introduced by the Licensed Victuallers’ Association and the first of them, the Boz, will be in use in, Wellington next week. The first stocks of the new glasses are going to -the mam centres. In some cases they are being air-freighted for speedier delivery. The distribution of eight ounce glasses began yesterday with 30 per cent, of the first order of 16,000 dozen glasses. These glasses should be in hotels in the main cities next week.

Moulds for the 12oz glasses should be completed by Friday and production will start then, with glasses in distributors’ hands on Monday for delivery to hotels early next week. All areas in New Zealand will not get the new glasses by December 1.

The new glasses will be easily recognised. They have fluted sides, a curved lip. and wider bottoms than the old straightsided models. The wider bottom and heavier base give better balance and the same cubic content in a shorter glass. Final verification of the new glass comes from the stamp on the bottom.
