Mr J. T. Watts, M.P. for Fendalton, is a patient in Calvary Hospital. Wellington, with an eye ailment—(F.O.O.R.) Mr C. E. Fuller, of Wellington, was re-elected president of the New Zealand Pottery Manufacturers’ Association, and Mr H. R. Adams, of Christchurch, was reelected vice-president at the annual conference in Queenstown yesterday.—(P.A.) Mr T. Muir, former secretaryorganiser of the Buller Mining Districts Community Centres for eight years, has been appointed Director of Social Development in the Cook Islands. He has been assistant director since 1957, and will continue to live at Rarotonga. Mr K. J. Bradlord, senior sales representative in Christchurch tor Tasman Empire Airways, has been appointed to take charge of the company’s new sales information centre in Sydney. He will leave for Sydney next Monday. Mr Bradford has been with T.E.A.L. since 1951 and is one of the two original members of the staff of the Christchurch office, the other being the district manager (Mr F. G. Hill). Lieutenant-Commander W. J. L. Smith, D. 5.0., a Southlandborn naval officer, will become commanding officer of the survey ship H.M.N.Z.S. Lachlan, and director of hydrography, early next year.—(PA.) Mr Henry Longhurst, a former member of the House of Commons and now celebrated as one of the outstanding British golf c irrespondents. arrived in Auckland by air last night.—(P.A.)
