COMMERCIAL Sharemarket Closes On Strong Note
The week’s trading op the Christchurch Stock Exchange closed on a strong note yesterday, with , leading New Zealand industrials in good demand. Bank of N.S.W., Griffins and Reid Rubber were easier. Forest Products, traded in Christchurch on Tuesday at 32s 9d, sold at 345, the price established on Thursday elsewhere. Whakatane Board Mills, after business in Auckland on Thursday at 455, were wanted at 44s 3d. Tasman were on offer at 25s 3d, the price paid on Tuesday. Bing Harris A, sold last week for 245, were done at 255. N.Z. Refrigerating, Wright Stephenson, Aulsebrooks preference, 8.H.P., Coles and William Cable were also firmer. Woolworths had first local business ex rights to the note issue, selling Is 9d lower at 14s 6d.
