Candidate Dies At Meeting

(New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, Nov. 19. One of the four candidates for the three Wairarapa seats on the Wellington Harbour Board at the local body elections on Saturday, Mr Robert Edward Gordon Lee, of Te Ore Ore, near Masterton, died while attending an election meeting in the Lansdown School Hall. He is the third Wairarapa local body member to have died in the last six days. The others were Mr D. F. G. Andrews, who was seeking reelection to the Masterton Borough Council, on which he had served since 1947, and Mr J. A. Betts, chairman and sitting member on the Masterton Licensing Trust.
