IV.Z. Scholarship Offered "Tht Prett" Special Servict AUCKLAND, November 17. A scholarship to attend a college or university in Georgia, United States, for one year has been offered by Rotarians there. It will be tenable from September, 1960, to June, 1961. There are 10 to 15 scholarships awarded each year to candidates, usually aged between 18 and 25. to attend junior colleges and senior colleges for their second, third or fourth year of college work. Most scholarships are awarded to candidates academically capable of entering colleges or universities for the fourth or “senior” year, leading to a degree, or capable of graduate work. The student should have selected a life work associated with one of the following occupations:—Journalism, teaching, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, soil reconstruction, forest service, social service, public health nursing, public health, Governmental service, political science, business administration, economics, enginering, town planning, architecture and art and music.
The scholarship will pay all tuition costs, books, room and meals and funds for incidental expenses.
The applicant or his sponsor must be able to provide a return passage to the school in Georgia. The scholarship does not provide any funds for travel, entertainment or clothing. It is not necessary that a candidate be a son or daughter of a Rotarian.
