De Gaulle To Visit U.S.?

PARIS, November 16. President de Gaulle is planning to visit President Eisenhower in Washington next spring, sources close to the Elysee Palace said today. The date and programme have still not been fixed and are expected to be discussed when President Eisenhower comes to Paris for the Western summit meeting opening on December 19. But General de Gaulle is understood to be considering late April or early May, before the EastWest summit conference. After his trip to Washington, he expects to visit Canada in response to an invitation by the Canadian Prime Minister (Mr John Diefenbaker).
