DRAINAGE BOARD WORK
Search For New Contractors An officer of the Christchurch Drainage Board will visit the West Coast to see if he can attract new contractors and labour for the board’s works: The board approved the visit last evening as a preliminary to attracting new contractors. A special committee reported that before embarking on any definite scheme it was making further inquiries on the amount of sewer work being undertaken in other centres. “Not the least of the difficulties that would be encountered if outside contractors could be attracted to Christchurch would be that of accommodation,” the committee commented.
